  • Alexander Sledin
    Russia
The bright and original St. Petersburg composer Alexander Sledin was born in Leningrad in 1947. The creative path of mr Sledin is quite unusual - he began composing music as an adult, having gone from participating in seminars of amateur composers to a member of the Union of Composers of Russia and one of the Board of the Union of Composers of St. Petersburg.

The compositions of Alexander Sledin are successfully performed by both professional collectives and performers, as well as amateur artists. The genres in which Alexander Sledin works are also very diverse - from romances and choral miniatures to operas and cantatas. Among the last major works is the opera "Vasily Terkin" based on the poem of the same name by Alexander Tvardovsky, which is very original music, which has been performed so far only in fragments in concerts and is waiting for its production.
In his orchestral work, Alexander Sledin relies on folklore tradition in combination with modern rhythms, primarily rock pulsations, considering the use of a bass guitar and a drum kit important. At the same time, the melodic basis of his music rests on the roots of classics and salon romance.

Since 2016, he has been the leader and organizer of the composer's circle "MELOS" of the Union of Composers of St. Petersburg.
In 2019, the Composer Publishing house (St. Petersburg) published a collection of Alexander Sledin's romances - "The Shining Peterhof"

The singer has a voice of amazing purity, tenderness and strength at the same time. Masterfully using the entire palette of colors of her masterpiece, she does not leave anyone indifferent, touching everyone's heart" (Stadtspiegel Gelsenkirchen newspaper). "Constance's aria performed by Diana Petrova, sung with deep feeling, but without excessive pathos, became the highlight of the evening" (Operapoint online magazine). The media group of the largest German publication "WAZ" recognized Diana Petrova as one of the best singers of the new generation in 2010 for playing the role of Cerbinetta : "The capricious Cerbinetta of Diana Petrova appears in the image of a pop lady with sparkling coloratura garlands.
